According to a report, 80 employees were fired in the latest round of layoffs. This list mainly consists of Pharmacy Technicians and Team Leads. However, it is reported that the company has not removed the registered pharmacists. 

A representative of the company said on the latest layoffs.. ‘We continuously improve our process for quality and efficiency. So we strive for the best customer experience. Recently we fired some employees in the Amazon Pharmacy department. “We have taken this decision to adjust the resources,” he said. Meanwhile, it is known that Amazon fired 18,000 employees earlier this year. Then in March, CEO Andy Jassy revealed that 9,000 employees would be laid off. As part of this process, Amazon laid off several employees of the advertising unit on April 18. In May this year, it issued pink slips to another 500 employees. 

The impact was on employees in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Human Resources and Support Functions. Recently, as layoffs have been announced in the pharmacy division as well, the employees are feeling extremely nervous.
